De mi voz al aire - Olideon
Melodic letters across heaven and earth
Olideon brings together the clear brilliance of Charlotte Komar’s soprano voice with the rich, colorful sound of Jhostin Misael Guzmán Martínez’s classical guitar. Together, they create a repertoire defined by expressive depth, subtle tonal nuances, and an intimate musical dialogue. All pieces in this program have been arranged for guitar and soprano by Jhostin Misael Guzmán Martínez, with some composed specifically for this ensemble – aiming to open new sonic spaces for the songs and make their emotional range immediately perceptible.
For this production, we set up all key microphones in duplicate, connecting them both to an analog recording system and, separately, to a digital recording system. This makes it possible to compare the two approaches: analog vs. digital.
Analog Tape Version
Eight microphone channels were mixed in analog. The resulting stereo signal was recorded on ¼-inch tape (SM468) at 15 ips using a sonically optimized Telefunken M15A tape machine. The original master tape was then digitized at high quality with a sampling rate of 192 kHz.

Digital Version
The microphone signals were amplified and recorded in 192 kHz sampling rate by utilization of an Acousence 16 channel mic preamp and analog digital converter. The resulting digital signals were transmitted to an audio pc by optical fiber. Later in the studio the digital mixing was performed using Harrison Mixbus.
